Andreas Haufler is a Professor of Economics at the University of Munich. He received a Master degree in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a doctoral degree in Economics at the University of Konstanz. He completed his habilitation thesis in Konstanz and was associate professor of Economics at the University of Goettingen, before coming to Munich in 2002. His long-term research interests have been in the areas of international tax policy, with a particular emphasis on business taxation. More recently, his research interest has also turned to the regulation of the banking sector in an open economy setting. He has been a Co-Editor-in-Chief of International Tax and Public Finance, where he is now on the editorial advisory board. He is currently the treasurer of the IIPF and a member of the Review Board of the German Research Foundation (DFG).
